HALLOWEEN CELEBRATED IN CHEYENNE, WYOMING WITH AN ASSORTMENT OF EERIE HAPPENINGS

 CHEYENNE, Wyo. (October 23, 2012) ─ Halloween is Spook-tacular in Cheyenne, with everything from Ghost Tours to Zombie Proms, Haunted Houses to Goblin Walks.

Street Railway Ghost Tour

Ghost TourGet on board the Cheyenne Street Railway Trolley Ghost Tour!  We add new stories each year, so the tour is brand new every year.  Listen to spooky tales during the journey through Cheyenne streets.  Expect chills and thrills, plus a surprise or two!  Tours begin at the Depot.   

Dates: October 26-28
Times: 6 PM and 7:30 PM
Tickets: $10 for adults, $5 for children 
Reservations are required. Tickets are on sale at the Depot, West 15th Street and Capitol Avenue, or by calling 307-778-3133 with a credit/debit card. 

The Cheyenne Street Railway has partnered with the Paranormal Hunting Observation Group to investigate local hauntings and are presenting their observations on this year's Ghost Tours!

These 90-minute tours illuminate the spirits of who once inhabited the vast prairie and our wild west town. You are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes. For more information call 307-778-3133.

Haunted Houses

zombie promThe Knights of Pythias' Nightmare on 17th Street Haunted House features some of the creepiest moments you'll experience all year. Come....If You Dare! Pregnant women, faint of heart and anyone younger than 8 are not allowed. $10 per victim (cash only). Tickets are $5 if you come dressed as a zombie on Oct 6, opening night. Tickets at the door.  Hours are from 7 to 11 p.m. Oct 25, 26 and 27 and then the hours change from 6 to 10 p.m. Oct 29, 30 and 31. For information, call 630-8680.

Halloween House is open October 31 from 6 p.m. to midnight at 2530 East 18th Street, which is next to the Church of the Holy Trinity. You'll find witches, zombies and other scary creatures, as well as a pumpkin patch. It's for anyone who is 8 years old or older. The cost is $5. 

Trick or Treat

Goblin Walk

Looking for some pumpkins? Stop by the Coldwell Banker The Property Exchange office from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 27, for their annual Great Pumpkin Give-Away!! There will be free pumpkins, treats and fun. Costumes are encouraged!! Coldwell Banker is at 255 Storey Boulevard. For more information, call 307-632-6481.

Goblin Walk will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, October 25, and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, October 26, at the Children's Village at the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens, 616 South Lions Park Drive. Featuring superheroes, Alice in Wonderland, Transformers, princesses, mummies, Puss in Boots and more! All kids will receive candy bags and candy is passed out along the path. Tickets are $5 and available at the Recreation Division, 610 W. 7th St. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. A Night at the Museum will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, October 26, at the Wyoming State Museum, 2300 Central Ave. Children trick or treat and meet some of Wyoming's most famous characters from the past past while touring the State Museum's galleries. Expected to be on hand during the festivities are President Teddy Roosevelt, Governor John Campbell, frontier soldiers, lawmen and other historical Wyomingites. The event is free. The VFW on South Greeley Highway invites children to a Halloween Party at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 27.  3216 S. Greeley Hwy. This free and fun event features a haunted house, goodie bags, cakewalk and games to win prizes. The VFW is at 3216 S. Greeley Hwy. For information, call them at 307-632-0950. 

On Sunday, October 28, you can take the little ones to Trunk or Treat, which isa party that features a carnival with games and prizes and a free hot dog supper. Afterwards all children are invited to go to the parking lot area set off for Trunk or Treat. Car trunks will be opened up all decorated for Halloween. Children may then trick or treat from car to car. All this starts at 4 p.m. Sunday, October 28, at Christ Lutheran Church and AKIDemy, 3260 Nationway. For information, call 632-8429. 

Zombie AttackSpooktacular Shooting Event

A spooktacular shooting event sponsored by the Laramie County Shooting Sports Complex features fun for all ages with a live Zombies laser challenge (laser guns available), bring your bb guns (air guns) to shoot the pumpkins you pain, hunt down ghosts, ghouls and zombies with an archery hunt, shoot at catapulted pumpkins with your own shotgun, and participate in ezting zombie gelatin brains, face painting, costume contests, shooting duels, eating candy, wearing new t-shirts and other great activities.

The event is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the sports complex, which is off Interstate 80 on Exit 370. Turn south to the Archer Complex. To participate is free if you are a yearly member of the complex or for all others it is $10, with some activities costing extra. Great prizes are involved. Other Ghastly Celebrations

SoyDan Music that Goes Bump in the Night will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, at the Cheyenne Civic Center, 510 W. 20th St. The Laramie County Community College Band presents "Music That Goes Bump in the Night." The annual Halloween themed concert is free to the public and donations will be accepted for the COMEA shelter. Halloween costumes are optional and the event includes their annual pumpkin carving  contest.  For information, call 307-637-6363.

Let's do the Time Warp Again, but hand me the umbrella first!! Come to the showings of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" Friday and Saturday, October 26 and 27, at the Atlas Theater, 211 West Lincolnway. Friday's showing is at 9 p.m. and Saturday's is at 9 p.m. and midnight. This 1975 film combines music, horror, dancing and good old-fashioned fun ... and it's kicked up a notch with the Cheyenne Little Theatre Shadow Cast as they will play along with the movie! You can play along too. Simply dress up as your favorite character and then use the items in your Film Kit to simulate rain and other more gorey parts of the movie. The Film Kit is included with the $12 entry fee. SoyDan is a magician who will give you an evening of blood-chilling stories and magical happenings. He's giving two shows each night, Friday and Saturday, October 26 and 27, at 7:30 and 9 p.m. at the Paramount Cafe, 1607 Capitol Avenue.  The $10 ticket includes 10% off an order at the coffee shop. Parties 

Dude looks like a lady

If you prefer your Halloween events to be on the weird side, then head on over to the Dude Looks Like A Lady Halloween Contest at 7 p.m. Saturday, October 27, at downtown's Drunken Skunk, 1617 Capitol Ave. The contest is for guys only, and they have to dress like a lady. The entry fee is a new toy for the Toys for Tots program. They can win $300, $200, and $100 for best dressed and best "acting like a lady." It runs from 8-10 p.m. After that, the band Blood Pollution plays til 1 a.m. Call the Drunken Skunk if you need more details at 307-778-3134

On Saturday night, the Redwood is holding a Halloween Party starting at 8 p.m. that features costume contests with cash prizes! Shaving Peggy will perform ... and the best part is there is NO cover charge. Head on over to the Redwood at 2105 E Lincolnway on October 27. For information, call 307-635-9096

Finally, have fun on Halloween night in a strictly adult setting with the Third Annual Vampire's Ball at Goofy's Tavern, 2801 Lincolnway. The party starts Wednesday night at 9 p.m. Your cover charge is only $2 if you wear fangs, $5 if you chicken out. Come dressed up in costume and you may win in one of the categories, including scariest, funniest and sexiest. There will also be live music. For more information, call 307-634-1501.
