is the place to be for fans of Americana music this Labor Day weekend with two separate music festivals offering a variety of bluegrass and cowboy entertainment.

The Cheyenne Heart of the West Festival showcases cowboy poets, western musicians, storytellers, and artisans Friday through Sunday (Aug. 29-31, 2008) at The Plains Hotel, the Cheyenne Depot, and the Atlas Theatre.  The festival celebrates historic traditions of the authentic Old West through concerts, a craft show, a chuck wagon dinner, and a Cowboy Church service.

The Magic City Bluegrass Festival features four top-notch bluegrass bands performing Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 30-31, 2008) at Cheyenne’s Lions Park Amphitheater.  In addition, the festival will feature a hands-on workshop where audience members can learn from the musical talent from the bands.  All performances and activities are free.
