World Champion barbeque teams will be competing for trophies and prizes in Cheyenne, Wyoming on Friday, September 7th through Sunday, September 9th at Frontier Park during the Inaugural Cheyenne RibFest 2007 hosted by the Greater Cheyenne Kiwanis Club.

RibFest hours will be
11 am to 11 pm on Friday and Saturday.  Sunday, the hours will be 11 am to 8 pm

Admission is $3, and free for children 12 years of age and under.

The RibFest opens Friday, September 7th with free admission from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. and an opportunity to taste some of the world’s best barbeque.  A “Saddlebag Lunch” will be offered, which with the purchase of any meat entrée, two free sides will be provided.

Adopting a motto of, “See you in Cheyenne -You’ll Be in Hog Heaven”, the weekend will feature champion cooking contests, gourmet foods, specialty desserts, refreshments and live music as well as incredible food prepared by World Champion cooking teams from Australia, Ohio, Indiana and Virginia.  BBQ chicken, ribs, brisket, and pulled pork will be available for purchase from the champion teams.

Additional activities include a Custom Car Show daily from 11 am to 5 pm., the ever popular Zonta Antique Show Saturday 10am to 5 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm, and Kid’s Day on Sunday with special activities from 11 am to 5 pm.

Live bands will perform from 5 – 11 pm on Friday and Saturday.  Live bands will also perform on Sunday 11 am - 1:30 pm and 5-8 pm.

The event will be used as a major fundraiser to support youth programs in the Cheyenne area.  “This is a great opportunity to taste some of the best food in the world, help local area youth and have a great time!” said RibFest Chairman Tom Elsberry.
