Viva la Cheyenne! Arriving at The Tortilla Factory, we found there to be lots of parking in the back and the atmosphere inside to be warm and casual with plenty of seating. For those of you who aren't familiar with The Tortilla Factory they are located on South Greeley Highway across from Safeway on the East side of the highway. It is owned and operated by the Tapia family, with an American Dream success story. The Tapia family came from Zacatecas, Mexico with the hope of fulfilling their long time dream of opening their own business, and in Cheyenne they have definitely found success. They have been in business on south Greeley since 1997.

When entering the restaurant for lunch we were immediately asked for our drink orders and given a basket of homemade tortilla chips and salsa made from tomatoes and peppers roasted right there on the premises. It wasn't long until our orders arrived. We had the Smothered Chimichanga's and the Enchiladas Plate. The chimichanga was a large deep fried beef burrito smothered in mild green chili and great refried beans on the side. The Enchiladas plate was served with two enchiladas topped with lots of cheese, fresh lett uce and ripe tomatoes. The food was very good and reasonably priced.

Our server checked up on us frequently and refilled our drinks often. She was very courteous and friendly and served us with a warm smile.

In addition to their great Smothered Chimichangas and Enchiladas, they offer a variety of Mexican cuisine. They have some of the best tortillas and tamales in town. At The Tortilla Factory you can also get Steak Tacos, Carne Asada, Fajitas, Fried Tacos, Carnitas, Chili Rellenos, Green Chili, Quesadillas and awesome Nachos El Grande.

And, don't forget to check out the front of the restaurant where you can purchase many Mexican items to take home including their homemade tamales, tortillas, hot or mild green chili, Barbacoa served with Pico de Gallo, refried beans, Spanish rice and of course Menudo off ered with lime, onion, oregano and Chili.
