RibFest Comes to Cheyenne

World Champion barbeque teams will compete in Cheyenne on Friday, September 7th through Sunday, September 9th at Frontier Park during the Inaugural Cheyenne RibFest 2007 hosted by the Greater Cheyenne Kiwanis Club.  More information

Heart of the West Festival

The Heart of the West Festival preserves the cowboy way of life in a gathering of the West’s best poets, musicians, artisans, and storytellers. Building on the legacy of the Cheyenne Cowboy Symposium, the inaugural Heart of the West festival will feature musicians Jon Chandler, Waddie Mitchell, Don Edwards, and more. August 31-September 1, 2007. More information

Wyoming Book Festival

The Wyoming Book Festival will be held in Cheyenne on September 14-15, 2007. It will celebrate Wyoming's rich literary heritage, promote Wyoming's books and support the state's authors, encourage reading, broaden people's reading choices, and provide educational opportunities for Pre-K – 12 students. New Hotel Developments in Cheyenne

Little America
is expanding to become Wyoming's largest full service hotel and convention facility, with 26,000 square feet of convention space and 19 breakout rooms.  Expected completion is early 2008.  More information

The Best Western Hitching Post Inn and Conference Center  has begun extensive renovations of its facility.  The renovation plan includes both interior and exterior paint for the entire building, extensive landscaping, new carpet and lighting in the conference rooms, and renovations to both restaurants.   More information

The Holiday Inn will begin its $2.4 million renovation in early September and complete it by Thanksgiving.  All sleeping rooms will receive new carpeting, wallpaper, and drapes.  Meeting rooms will be updated with new wallpaper, lighting, and dividers.  Two new meeting rooms will add about 3,000 additional square feet.  Cheyenne Holiday Inn website

Sleep Inn, I-80 exit 367, opened in June of 2007.  SpringHill Suites, 416 W. Fox Farm Road, is scheduled to open mid-September.


Peacock Alley

For many years the Plains was the largest and most opulent hotel in the region. It included (and does to this day) a long hallway christened Peacock Alley.
