Cheyenne is home to 26 eight-foot-tall beautifully-painted cowboy boots this summer. These wonderful boots are being sponsored by members of the Cheyenne business community and have been painted by local artists. For individual locations of the boots, contact the Cheyenne Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (307-778-3133) which will provide a map.
"These Boots Are Made For Talking" is a joint project of the Cheyenne Depot Museum Foundation and the Downtown Development Authority. The proceeds from this project are for the Cheyenne Depot Museum Foundation endowment fund. The Downtown Development Authority's purpose is to foster the economic and physical enhancement of downtown Cheyenne.
The boots will be on display until the end of September throughout Cheyenne. The boots will be auctioned off to the highest bidder in grand fashion on October 9, 2004. If you would like to participate in this auction, please contact the Cheyenne Depot Museum Foundation at 307-637-3376.
