Today, August 13th, is National Filet Mignon Day, and what better place to celebrate than in Cheyenne? The development of Cheyenne back in the 1800s was influenced by the cattle industry, and with livestock still being a large part of Wyoming’s economy, it’s not a surprise that it’s pretty easy to find a great steak in Cheyenne. Here are a few of our favorite places to find a perfect filet mignon in town!

Little Bear Inn

Situated just north of Cheyenne, the Little Bear Inn captures the essence of Wyoming's past. Its storied history as a way station, gambling hall, and saloon adds a touch of charm to the restaurant and remains a favorite to locals and visitors alike. After 65 years, Little Bear Inn is still serving up delicious steaks as well as a full menu of other foods that you won’t soon forget! We suggest their Filet Mignon with Gorgonzola Cream Sauce, but if that’s not your style the regular Filet Mignon is just as tasty!

T-Joes Steakhouse & Saloon

Tucked away on the east edge of Cheyenne, T-Joes Steakhouse & Saloon has been operating in Cheyenne since 1984. This steakhouse just feels like Wyoming with its rustic feel and unique décor. You will definitely leave T-Joes with a full stomach, as everything from start to finish at T-Joes is sure to satisfy your hunger! Our suggestion is their Filet Mignon with sauteed mushrooms (and their fried Brussels Sprouts as your side!)

The Metropolitan Downtown

Located in Downtown Cheyenne, The Met boasts a classic menu with elevated service and a polished casual atmosphere. This upscale dining establishment has a full menu of tasty items, from their delicious small plates to their desserts (the Key Lime Tart is a personal favorite!). We recommend their 8-ounce hand cut Filet, with a Caesar salad and smashed fingerling potatoes for your sides!

Wyoming’s Rib & Chop House

Rib & Chop House ironically opened the doors on its original location in Bozeman, Montana in 2001 but has since opened locations across several states, including Wyoming. The Cheyenne location opened in 2014 and has since been a staple in downtown Cheyenne. They have a menu with unique eats, like their fried green tomato appetizer that is a favorite among locals. Our recommendation is their aptly named Famous Filet with BBQ Shrimp over the top!

Wasabi Grill and Bar

Wasabi is a contemporary Japanese steakhouse that has a traditional dining room as well as a hibachi grill where your food gets cooked right before your eyes. Located in the heart of Cheyenne, Wasabi is a great place to visit for delicious sushi and hot, fresh meals off the hibachi. Our recommendation? Sit on the hibachi side and get the Surf & Turf hibachi combo which will get you Filet Mignon and Lobster Tail!

We hope this helped inspire you to gather your loved ones and head to your favorite Cheyenne restaurant to celebrate National Filet Mignon Day!
